This is your private home for deeper Hoodoo study, spiritual history, conjure, ritual work, divination, plant knowledge, sacred texts, and the foundations behind the work.

Root & Flame is designed as a growing study library. You do not have to move through everything at once. Start where you are. Study what speaks to the work you are doing now, then come back as your understanding deepens.

New teachings, classes, workings, reference material, and resources will continue to be added.

Root & Flame members may receive access to live teachings, focus classes, seasonal classes, spiritual study sessions, and special community events throughout the year.

HOW TO USE ROOT & FLAME

There is no expectation that you read everything immediately.

This is a library.

Some days you may come in to study one herb. Another day you may need a scripture, a ritual, a card meaning, historical context, or help understanding how a particular type of work is traditionally approached.

Use the sanctuary as a reference point and return to teachings as often as needed.

The goal is not simply to collect rituals.

The goal is to understand the principles behind the work so that you know what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how to work with what is already around you.

MEMBER ACCESS

Entering Root & Flame

Root & Flame is a private, application-based study community. It is not open enrollment, but there are two pathways into the sanctuary.

Through The Red Room

Active Red Room members become eligible to apply for Root & Flame after four consecutive months of membership. If your application is approved, Root & Flame is included with your Red Room membership at no additional cost for as long as your qualifying Red Room membership remains active.

Direct Membership

You do not have to be a Red Room member to apply.

Direct applications open four times each year around the equinoxes and solstices.If your application is approved, you may join Root Flame with a one-time annual membership fee of $250. At the end of your year membership, you may be take the opportunity to renew at the membership rate available at that time.

Private Invitations

From time to time, I may personally invite someone to apply outside of the regular application periods. An invitation allows you to apply early; it does not bypass the application process.

Root & Flame is intentionally curated, the application process helps me protect the purpose of the space and make sure the people entering understand what Root & Flame is and what we are here to study.

Your Root & Flame access remains active for the duration of your membership.

Because this is a private teaching space, please do not share member logins, private class links, downloads, or protected teachings outside of the community.

Please allow up to 72 hours after joining for account confirmation or access emails when necessary.

How the Application Process Works

Root & Flame is an application-based community. Payment does not come first. Approval does.

1. Choose your pathway.

If you've been an active Red Room member for at least four consecutive months, you're eligible to apply through the Red Room pathway. If you're not a Red Room member, you can apply for Direct Membership during one of our four annual application periods. Private invitations may also be extended outside of these periods.

2. Complete the application.

Take your time and answer honestly. Applying does not guarantee admission, and there is no fee to submit an application.

3. Allow up to 30 days for review.

Every application is reviewed individually. You'll receive your decision by email, so make sure you provide an email address you check regularly.

4. If approved, you'll receive your next steps by email.

Red Room members will receive instructions for activating their included Root & Flame access. Approved Direct Members will receive a private link to purchase their three-year membership for a one-time payment of $250.

5. Enter Root & Flame.

Once your membership is activated, you'll receive the information you need to access the sanctuary and begin exploring the material at your own pace.

Please do not purchase a Root & Flame membership before receiving approval. Payment does not bypass the application process, and unauthorized purchases will be refunded.
