Over the years, one of the questions I've been asked most often is, “What should I read?” And the truth is, learning doesn't always have to begin with a class, a teacher, or a membership. Sometimes it begins with a book.

This page is a collection of recommended reading for those who want to learn, explore, and go deeper. This will be a growing collection of books I recommend for those who want to learn, explore, question, and go deeper. You'll find books on Hoodoo and African American history, spirituality and religion, self development, ritual and ceremonial magic, tarot, folklore, mythology, and many other subjects. These books are here to offer a starting place for anyone who is curious and willing to study for themselves.  

You don't have to have a lot of money to begin learning. Libraries exist. Used bookstores exist. Books can be borrowed, shared, and revisited. Knowledge has always found a way to travel.

This isn't a list of everything you need to know, and reading a book doesn't replace lived experience, community, or proper context. But every journey has a beginning.
